Amazon.com is selling your emails to spammers
Oct 24, 2008Be aware! I just received an email from world largest spam provider ChristmasDepot.com to my private inbox created just for Amazon.com store. This mean Amazon.com is selling its customer's email addresses to spammers. I'm very upset finding this.
First of all let me explane more. I have created separate email for Amazon.com a half of year ago for security purposes and it is used to login to amazon only, and I never used it on other web sites. And I have antivirus on my PC running so this email can't be stolen by spyware. Also, this email is a very long in length, its impossible to guess it. I also should say that I don't use free email provider, I have my own server for my emails. Things I said guarantee that third party can't send emails to me to that inbox.
However, I started to receive emails from spammers to this inbox. This mean Amazon.com sold my identity to some company! As evidence I have attached spam email below. You can see that there is no legal information of source provider, and they said I have choosen to receive special promotions... NONE! NEVER! My email used for login purposes only at amazon!!!
This web claim will be also forwarded to Amazon staff, I will post their reply soon, here.
